US half dollar year set

    I got a couple of requests for pics of my half dollar date set. I'll try to post a few daily for a while.

    No half was minted in 1804 so the 1805/4 has to suffice.

    Your 1801 and 1802 are very nice, especially considering how scarce those two dates are! I have a feeling that this is going to be a good thread.

    They are all very nice. I have to agree, though, the 1801 and 1802 are special.
    The 1794 half dollar is of course a scarce and significant issue, and your example is very attractive.

    More a variety rather than an error. Usually called the 50/20, but it has now been shown to be 5 over an inverted 5.

    Great collection so far. I've never really paid alot of attention to the older halves, but I can see what I've been missing out on... :)
