I was going through all my tokens and I came across this one that I bought years ago and I had always wondered about this one because in hand it looks like gold. It looks like a copy of an old gold coin so yesterday I took it to my local coin guy and I had him scan it with his XRF scanner and it tested positive for 17k gold. Does anyone know anything about these gold coins? I found a little bit of information but not much. Here's a couple of pics of the coin, any idea of the value or where exactly it came from? 18.6mm 3.1 grams https://www.coinarchives.com/w/results.php?search=gaston
https://www.torrinishop.net/shop/en/gold-florentine-coins/918-half-zecchino-in-gold.html Yours is not the same as the one in the link, but similar. Unfortunately does not look like an original, but nice that it's at least gold and silver, not bad for a replica Link to original, no photo, but you can google it. https://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide...florino-fr-329-1726-cuid-1148617-duid-1487072
Hi Frank, I hope you're doing well! Yes, great information! I bought this off the bay around 10 years ago, in fact I was just gonna tell you the price but I remembered I may want to sell it after the novelty wears off and I wouldn't want a prospective buyer to see this with the price I paid. Wow, I just looked at your top link, you nailed it! I got a really sweet deal! ~Cheers!
