how important is slabbing paper currency? also what grade would you give a nice bill where the biggest issue is a billfold crease?

Slabbing currency is only as importatn as the person who owns the note thinks it is. Personaly, i dont think it is very high on my list, and i own alot of notes. Some i slabbed myself to protect them, but i have never sent any note to a TPG.

As for the grade, check the PCGS grade guide Here its the one i use most of the time for online viewing.

    I personally don't care for "slabbing" coins/notes.
