This coin is raw. What is it’s approximate value (grade and open vs closed 3)?

No open or closed choices on this coin. There are arrows on either side of the date making this variety 5 which indicates a change to the weight of the Dime. The open and closed variety only occurs on variety 4.

Variety 5 was only minted in 1873 and 1874, then the increased weight was used and the design was back to variety 4 (no arrows) from 1875 until 1891 when the end of Liberty Seated Dimes ended.

PS. If in G-4 it should bring about $10-$12 if clean and undamaged.

100% correct. I forgot to pay attention to the arrow presence. Still an 'open' 3 style though.

    Good point on the arrows!
I assume it’s VF Details “Obverse Scratches” correct?

Disagree on VF details. F details possibly. $10 is in the ballpark.
A damaged coin is always going to be damaged and a problem.
