I have a bronze medallion which is called the "american legion school award". It's 21/2 inches in diameter, and 1/8 inch thick.
It's dated 1925, and made by medallic art co., of n.y.
Any info on this item or its value would be appreciated.

Hello Cathy and welcome to the forum :)

Do you have any way of posting pictures? It's so much easier to identify something with pictures - both sides if possible. Thanks.

    Hi Cathy. Welcome aboard.
    Does yours look like this?

It's a 1943 version. I lifted the picture from a personal history website, that described it this way:
Medals of this type are collectible, but their value depends on finding the one person in thousands, or even millions, who wants them. Condition is always important. The one I'm showing would probably be worth top dollar of its type.

It's amazing what a simple Google search will bring up. Click here for the one I did on "American Legion School Award".

It is exactly the same as the back of yours, with the eagle but the front "For God and Country, Under and it says "sempter fidelis. There is a woman unraveling an american flag. RT 1925, on the edge it says metalic art co, ny bronze
