What date is this Thai Fuang?

Just picked up a nice little 1/8 Baht (Fuang) - and I'm just not sure where exactly the date is or how to read it. I believe I've found the part that denotes "fuang" on the bottom of the reverse - can someone help me out with a date?

    Thanks!

Haha...maybe someone who speaks Thai or specializes in Thai coins...

(I do try to figure out the answers before resorting to asking. Most times I figure it out, but sometimes...just too many squiggly lines.)

I think these are undated. It’s from 1876-1900.

I believe this is correct. My wife is asleep right now, but I know it's a Rama V piece and believe it's an undated issue. A few years later he ordered new silver baht pieces from the Paris mint, but he died before they arrived. They were only issued for his cremation, creating one of the greatest rarities in all of Thai coinage.

In my 2004 19th century Krause world coin catalog it is Y#32, dates ND(1876-1900) silver,
    grade/value
F-$3.00 VF-$7.00 XF-$30.00 UNC-$90.00 I am sure the values are higher in the latest catalog. Not sure what grade you coin is ? VF-XF ?

@stldanceartist Its considered 1876 by NGC/PCGS and Krause has them as that year as well.

Medoraman, your talking about the 1908 Rama V baht. That one is definitely pricey, 5k+ for some lower graded examples.

Yes. It is on my wish list, but is one of the few coins I would only ever buy certified. There are probably 5,000 fakes for every real one in existence, and some of the fakes are very well done.

Btw, anyone know of any good coin shops I can visit in Bangkok or Chiang Mai? I am going there this summer with wife and kids to visit their grandma.
