Meow mentioned this quarter to paddyman98 in another thread. It is one of the coolest things Meow ever has found. It is a 2013 South Dakota quarter with a die chip right in Jefferson's nostril. It also has a minor doubled die in the usual spot. Meow calls it the 'Jefferson Booger variety' attributed by MeowtheKitty. It is also in uncirculated condition to boot.
Wow, that's a lot for recent modern coin. So it had a really high slabbed grade to warrant such a price? Was it something like a MS69? High grade or not, it has no booger on it. Jefferson snot rocket, the ultimate weapon of democracy!
Meow bought a few MS67 business strike State quarters and ATBs a few months ago. MS66s where real cheap, not even the cost of the slab. MS68s where crazy pricy. MS67s where just the right price, and the right pretty.
2005-S KS Silver SQ, NGC PF70UCAM, FS-901, Die Dent, Top Pop w/no others. I submitted it for the error in 2005. The error became a variety listed in the CPG in 2012. The variety made it eligible for the NGC Census. A collector from California contacted me through the NGC Collectors Society, and I sold it about 2 months later. Chris
I made all of my profit from selling MS68's that I submitted for grading from Mint bags & rolls. I had great luck with Sac Dollars, Kennedy Halves and State Quarters. I'd give away to YN's those that came back MS67. Chris
Meow did that. It was made many months ago, and Meow did not know it was supposed to be that way. But also, there is no space for another letter in the label. Just be happy, and enjoy the booger.
