What makes you think that it is a mistake?
Perhaps they meant it: Num (numb to the hobby) i (for themselves) matic (they once lived in a manic phase of life).
    or: Numimatic.

I noticed there was a buy it now type thing for $3.99 and only .01 cent for shipping. I wonder how many people he could sucker in by saying the coin is selling for $0.00 and there is a charge of $4.00 for postage and handling?
Please don't let stuff like this upset you. Live is really to short and your only seeing one very, very, very small fraction of the scams on ebay.

I just tried the link and ebay says the listing has been removed or is no longer available.
Why do I find this laughable?
    Teehee!

Couldn't help myself from putting this in when I saw this as the dealers indentification on the new listing. Hopefully he won't get any casual, or heaven forbid, serious collectors involved in his scheme.
After all, some of us serious collectors are still quite new to the entire process.
Maybe mom was right when she said 'do not talk to strangers'?

I Dont understand this? How can he make any money at all. $3.99 for a coin and 1 cent to ship it? He must be hopping people only buy one coin so he can send you a Penny.

Let see here. There are ebay listing and sales fee's and then Paypal fee's? Am I right? Then there is the cost of the crap slab and shipping and everythign you need to ship the coins in. How Much can this trash slinger really make?

It really makes little sence. This guy should just give up and go away.

    Frank:

I never assume, I just make observations... LOL

It is also possible that the slabs that were listed in that eBay auction were counterfeits of Numismatic Coin Grading Service slabs. Now here's a thought... someone could counterfeit say... Piedmont Grading Services slabs (just using an example) but the odd part would be to have the coins graded correctly... They would be discernable in a minute just from the fact that they don't all say MS-70 on them...

just my 2¢ worth, I hope someone laughed at it

Buyers who purchased are just two names: russell----, and tx_designer_online----

The 'dealer' is in Lake Havasu City AZ, and the grading service is in Ephraim WI?
Duh... don't quite see how... oh, now I know... the dealer is getting back and forth in their personal company jet they bought with proceeds from these auctions....

Oh, at the PNCCS website it says they have a "Unique Sealing Method"....
Right now all I can think of is bubblegum...

Now I am going to laugh awhile because it makes me much too sad people have to fall so low take advantage of not only the uneducated, but kids too? You know and I know that kids will wind up seeing these ads and will ask mom or dad to help them get the coin.

    Bad bad bad dealer..

Didn't you read the ad? If you buy 10($40) you'll get a Morgan or Peace dollar, probally a 1922 Peace graded G-4 "Holed" and if you buy 100($400) you'll get a gold coin!!

How can you pass up an offer like that?

    You are just too funny!
What if we ganged up and loaded his mailbox with messages about his selling methods... or maybe we gang up and buy all his coins and he will go broke?
The labels on the slabs look a little too paintshop/photoshop, or whatever, produced then pasted on the so-called slabs.

I've already been asking him questions, however I think he is ignoring me. :(

Maybe I should offer him .25 on all 1000 coins and get ten gold coins and 100 silver dollars for only $250. Think he'll go for it?

  14. jeankay

    jeankay Coin Hoarder

Well, TwoSon, I think he can count a little higher than 250. After all he is using the number 399 quite a lot.
This seller... to use the ebay term extremely loosely... is a real piece of work.
Chances are he will make plenty of money off the uneducated collectors.
So sad... he isn't ignoring you, he is just acting like you aren't there.

I played dumb and here was his response,Hello and thanks for your interest in one of our ebay items.

If you just bid on 1 coin you will get a quarter or half - if you bid on 5 or more you get an equal mix of denominations (penny, nickel, dime, quarter, half - orders of 10 or more also get dollar coins in the mix)
