1964 P With FS Wow -may have a good one here !

Discussion in 'Coin Roll Hunting' started by Michael Bromiley, Feb 17, 2019.

  1. Found a 1964P Jefferson nickel today that seems to be almost mint, with full steps.
There are some rough places just above the right of the memorial building but other than that I guessing maybe a MS68+. The reverse also seems to have a cameo appearance. I have one more free grading with PCGS- will try to get it into the mail on Tuesday. - Happy Presidents Day !!!

Are you sure it isn't a proof? The FS designation is for business strikes only. It looks like a proof to me.

Double Die I know just enough to be dangerous

Squared rims and slight cameo look says proof to me.

That is a proof. Not a business strike.

This is about average for a Philly struck Jefferson between 1960 and 64. IMG_0005.JPG IMG_0002_2.JPG

It has a bit of a paw print to boot.

  13. Thanks so much for the pictures the other day - What you showed me is about the best I can find as far as the number of visible unbroken steps.

Yes, but you do understand that 6 full steps is common with a proof coin. Business strike Philly? There has never been one found.

My example was average/better than average for what some one would expect to find in circulation between 1960 and 1964.
The only coins that had detail were the PF's.
