One person already said $2 bills can be ordered from my locall bank. Im looking specifically for 1976 $2 bills. I dont want 1995; I dont want 2003; and I want packs of uncirculated bills. Let me get some opinions from the cointalk members. whats the availabililty of new 1976 bills. do the banks and the federal reserve still have hoards of the 1976 bills? or has it all been distributed?
It's hit or miss getting them, but I personally have gotten them and I know others that have. In my last FRB bundle, I got almost a $1000 in UNC 1976 $2's from the Richmond District. Some of the straps had the edges crinkled, but ultimately, I fished out $500 in $50 straps. All the $50 straps are consecutive, but the straps are not all consecutive to each other. I also pulled out a star note from those UNC $2's. Anyway, as long as you are very organized, you will be able to order and search bundles of $2's the same as everyone else searches coins. The only cost is your time.
