It looks to me like your coin has been plated and mounted in a bezel like a decorative piece of jewelry someone would wear. On the bottom of the reverse it looks like the spot where the attachment piece would have been connected has broken off. It is not an error unfortunately. I'm not an expert though, just my opinion.
