The one kinda looks like it has split points on the another image of a one underneath. Anyone else see that, or Meow just imagining too hard?
The only thing listed is a doubled eye lid . I think what you see on the first couple numbers of the date is ;Image was taken to -plumb . Here's a shot of what coneca image look like . Make sure you match your image to one like this . As we can see, it's was taken +plumb ..
Sir I believe your coin is a: 1955 (S) DDO RPM which is a fairly valuable coin good luck with your coin. The Date Liberty and In God We Trust are thicker as they should be but it Definately looks to me like the S is an RPM Re-punched Mint Mark. have a great day Look up 1955 (S) DDO RPM #AMERICANS
This is my setup . It makes it easy for plumbing your coin . Then you can take images like this . See how the lettering is -plumb ....
I agree with Eddie that it isn't a DD , the eyelid isn't doubled either. The mint mark was punched with a well worn punch and produced the mostly flattened re on the sides of the S ,die deterioration . Overall , the wear has flattened the lettering somewhat so it appears thicker in some areas. IMO Normal older cent for wear, Jim
Nice setup Rick ...I Like your microscope setup...I have one also so want to ask why yours is offset? Does that eliminate most of the shadows?
