Picked this up from photos and didn't realize it had such beautiful color! It's going in my Dansco Type Set album, but wondering what the value would be? I feel like I got a good deal, and I only ask because if its worth a bit, I would rather put it in a flip and buy a lesser coin for a Dansco. Thank you!!!
As far as value,Classic Heads carry their value well. This coin is obviously cleaned in my eye, and the result is this type of toning. The Album storage may enhance the toning more, or escalate to terminal toning sooner than a flip.
Like @old49er, I strongly suspect it was cleaned, but the (secondary) toning is attractive nonetheless.
I think I overpaid by 20-30% but in hand it’s a very striking coin. Happy with it and I just popped it in the Dansco
For what it's worth, I'm into this for 100$ via Ebay. Might be my first "overpay lesson" but hey, I still love the coin!
If you love the coin then it was money well spent. I would put it in a flip to protect it more than the album. You can easily find another nice one for the Dansco. Also, looks like it has an old light cleaning and has retained nicely.
