Thanks for sharing the coin picture with us, @Suarez. Such nice coin. Great flow lines. Congrats! I look forward to adding a Roman gold aureus in the future. Currently enjoying my Byzantine AV Solidus.
Congrats @Suarez ! amazing coin with lovely flow lines. 100% genuine and nice example. If you don't mind, how much did you get it for?
Hi Rasiel, that is a great presentation of your collection. I wish I had the skills to create something like that! The work you put into ERIC II is awe inspiring and your book was one of the reasons that made me want to hoard Roman Coins myself. I sincerely hope that you ever find the time for a complete update. That Aureus ist astonishing and I would not ever give it away again! Congratulations, JG
A stunner, beautiful color/tone. Definitely worth the wait and what a first gold! Lol, when I saw your name I had Flashbacks to the old yahoo list! Nice to "see" you again!
Thanks again for the continued comments, I'm humbled. The AP came from CNG's last Triton. Came to $6,800 with fees (believe me, a wallop to the wallet). https://cngcoins.com/Coin.aspx?CoinID=372247 JG... You don't need any skills. Just upload it to Tantalus and the grid self-populates. Happy collector: I'm curious to see your solidus. C'mon, don't be shy! ERIC III is coming along but very slowly. I am putting the finishing touches to the new Vespasian section which I'm considering releasing as a low-cost standalone ebook. But I don't expect the entire work to be ready, honestly, until at least 2025. On another related note ERIC II recently sold enough copies to make it a profitable project. For an independent publisher, in numismatics no less, that's a minor miracle :- )
Hi Rasiel: Sorry, forgive my ignorance....I did not know you where the author of ERIC-II I must tell you, I love it, probably best value for money case closed. I am following your revised listing of rulers, ie: Constans II is now the III...... I can hardly wait for ERIC-III!!!!! John
That is a beautiful aureus, Suarez (interesting name)! Very well chosen. As you say, "Many collectors often start by getting worn "starter" coins"....that is what I did when I purchased my aureii.....unfortunately. You did it the right way. I also viewed your collection in Tantalus. Very nice, an inspiration for sure.
