i would like to state that I am like a brand new newbie so please if you do not have patience for brand new member questions then maybe do not continue to read. Everyone else thank you so much for taking the time to help me. I have this 2013 dime and I think it may be an error but I am not sure and would appreciate some help please. Please excuse my terrible photos
photos are actually better than most, but the dime is just damaged. Welcome to the forum, hope you hang around.
Welcome to the neighborhood @Crystal newbie ! I only had to view your first image, and I knew that it is post-mint damage (PMD). There is no way that this could have occurred at the Mint. Chris
This kinda looks like a lawn mower coin. Think if you mow over a coin how it gets whipped around and hit by the blade and maybe whipping of the metal container shell. They get damaged like this or worse.
Crystal, if you are truly interested in coin collecting as a hobby then do yourself a massive favor and do these two things 1) Get a Red Book of US Coins 2) Google the coin minting process or go to the US Mint website and educate yourself on the minting process.
