Hey guys halfway through my penny hunt I came across a 1998 wide am, I know its not the most highly sought after variety but its something, and its in decent shape, just looking for opinions on weather or not I should get it graded or authenticated at least. I know it can fetch a somewhat high premium. $30-200 Pics Below, Steve
so i wouldn't spend the money on certification. The 98 is more common the 99 is the more rare coin. I have one 98 myself, though i find it more valuable as collector than its monetary value.
WAM's and CAM's were once highly sought after.. In my opinion the prices have dropped and the excitement about them has faded.
The market is weird with those. I have sold 3 of the '98's and each time they didn't bring what I thought they would. More or less than they should have but all with little hype.
That's weird . I posted the sold section for the wide AM . Lets try it again . https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...ide+AM&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1
This list from the Lincoln Cent Resource goes from the rarest to the least rare. 1. 1992 Close AM 2. 1992 D Close AM 3. 1998 S Close AM 4. 1999 S Close AM 5. 1999 Wide AM 6. 1998 Wide AM 7. 2000 Wide AM Not worth the cost of grading. Put it in a 2x2 and label it.
The high MS grades were a hair over ?$10? And the lower grade about 5 and I don’t expect to get more than $2. Not getting rich on these.
