After seeing this video on how every country count their money, which do you think will be the fastest. Although I have seen most of the counting method used in my country but the fastest hand counting method is still using the two thumbs and two fingers ( the finger next to the thumb) ( not demonstrated in the video ). Enjoy the video. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1098393/how_people_count_cash/
That was very cool. Thanks for the link. Not sure which is fastest though. I don't think it really matters the method but the person doing it. Any method could be the fastest if the person doing it has good dexterity and a sharp mind.
I'm declaring shenanigans. I dunno which Japanese this guy has seen, but all the bankers and money counters i've seen usually fan out the cash and count 5 notes per flick. Wish I had the vid of a money counter taking a stack of 600 bills and counting out 500 of them into 100 note stacks in one minute. And having a counter test his accuracy. Kinda helps that Japanese money is nearly crisp even after a few years in circulation.
Who woulda thought theres so many way to hand count cash. I use the count like the rest of the United States. Intereting video
I count left hand to right hand the "American" way. I do both sides to look for errors etc and can still outcount a lot of cashiers on a good day because I did it for so long.
You have to wonder, if 1. all those techniques are actually commonly used? 2. the purpose of most of those techniques is to have full control over the money to prevent a grab and run type theft while you are in a public market buying something?
I agree. I lived in Japan for almost two years, and have probably spent a total of 6-9 months visiting since then, and I never saw any bank employee or store cashier count money the way it's done in that video.
They had America correct, most people I see use that method. I have been to Africa (Nigeria) and Pakistan but I never noticed how they do it or if it was different.
The way he counted it, I can only recall only one instance....and it was in the movie Ghost in the Shell for a few seconds with an old lady.
The way they show for Afghanistan and other middle east countries (second one I think) seems a bit awkward. We have a Russian here, maybe he can confirm that is how they count money in Russia
