Hope you get everything sorted out @Ken Dorney. Where I live we get one or two snows like this a year. I grew up in South Florida, so it inspires awe, but at this point I'm more than ready for Spring. The less often you get snow, the more disruptive it is when you do. Keep safe.
At least no one was hurt. Hope your insurance takes care of most of it too. We had 22 inches of snow out of the same system. That's a bunch for us and it's causing a lot of trouble. We were lucky and only lost a tree limb away from the house.
Thanks for all the kind comments. I really appreciate it and it means a lot to me. The wife and kids are off with the grandparents and I decided to wait things out at the house. Darned cold but I can easily deal with that! It seems now there is an issue of who will do what first (read into that who will be paid first). The city will will not restore power until the trees are cleared. I get that. But the insurance company is only willing to pay a small token amount. I’m out of pocket probably $15-20k before anyone will even begin working. Of course I don’t have that liquid cash but I think I can get the ball rolling anyway. What a bummer! All these decades of paying insurance only to get a pittance in claims. But... I won’t let it ruin our vacation! We will still be jetting off to Europe (London and Paris). We will leave in a day. Don’t be surprised if I advertise a huge sale to raise cash when I get back. In the meantime I have to deal with one guy who ordered a $5 coin and is demanding to know where it is and why it hasn’t been delivered (to Canada and seems held in customs). Such is life!
I hope you can get this cleared up soon. I would be over with my chainsaw but I am on the wrong coast. Last hurricane here i had a full grown palm tree fall into my pool. They weigh a ton so I had to cut it up before I could lever it out. Have a good trip to Europe! John
Please enjoy your trip. I am sure the fridge and freezer(s) are already completely emptied? (Just a little feminine nagging in case you missed your wifie! ) More prayers out.
All the best, Ken! Thoughts and prayers, my friend. Hope that dude chills out! Hope you have a great trip full of fun and relaxation! Erin
That's what we call a skiff, or a dusting of snow here. Ha! Hope you get all taken care before you leave.
Coincidentally the last few days I've been working on a coin deal with a mutual acquaintance of yours who also lives in that area. He told me that power lines were down and his cable was out. He also lost two out-buildings on his property. Incredibly not long ago we were talking about the fires in that part of California. I certainly wish you the best and hope the recovery is expedient.
