Pretty sure the guy that sold it had no interest in coins. He had a couple dollars of morgans and peace dollars that he said he had been trying to get rid of. I was more than happy enough to take them off his hands
Picked these up this weekend in a 1964-1969 set for $28 (the 1964 is slightly toned, but not as strongly as these two)
i was at the flea market yesterday and got some good finds. i bought a 1963 franklin half dollar $13, 3 buffalo nickels 1923 1929 and an unknown date $3. 2 1943-d cents and 2 1943 cents $3. i got a 5 reichspfenning (the nazi coin) $1. i only paid 20 dollars yesterday. but by far the best part was going to the local kroger to get a tea $0.77 and in the change there was a 1963 roosevelt dime!!!!
Those are pretty but the toning on both looks very questionable. Still, how can you go wrong for $28.
Am I missing something? Why would you go back? If the first sale was conducted without subterfuge, you shouldn't worry about the 'deal' you received.
37 Bucks with shipping. Soaked in acetone for a week. I should have taken before pictures of the wad of Tar (?) that was on the rev. The acetone was literally black when I removed the coin. The pics don't pick it up well but there is original luster in spots where the tar protected the coin.
Wow. Try a white background. I can't tell if the color of the coin is an unnatural bronze? A nice original brown would be nice...
I just bought a Ken_A_Vision 5mp usb camera and it is challenging learning how to use it. I think it will be better than my old point and shoot and I really don't want to spend the $ to get the proper lens for my SLR. Here is a couple of shots on a light background and diffused lighting. Much closer to the real color.
Got this nicely toned VF ish condition 1792 Mexico city Carlos IV 8 reales for UNDER spot. Got it for $11, I’d say with the condition and patina, this coin would easily be $100+ without the hole.
55¢ So nice to walk into coin shops that have nice toners priced just like any other old coin. Picked up these two as well- I pulled the 1916-S out of an obscure box after digging for awhile. Only charged me $2 for that one- Looks AU in hand.
