Got this from my bank today, is it worth anything more than face value? If it's too hard to read, it's a Series 1950 E Note
nice find!:thumb: notes from the 50's arn't really rare. a dealer would probaly give you $22 for this bill if he even wanted to buy it. its a nice find from the bank though, definatly don't spend it.
Can't always believe the books or the internet. The 1950E series is strangely under rated. New York, Chicago and San Francisco (B, G and L districts) were the only ones printed and all had star notes as well for the $20 note. Three blocks besides star notes B-D, G-D and L-D. Highest was the G-D at 9.36 million. When I was going through millions in currency every year I saw my share of 1950 series' twenties. VERY RARELY saw 1950E series. I kept all of them. Nice looking note Dave and I would put it at $50 minimum. Any dealer that passed it up is one that doesn't know currency that well. clembo
Clembo has a point...when I was searching for my $50 and $100 NY 1950E I found them to be more expensive due to the limited bank runs. Get the Book by Schwartz/Lindquist 8th Edition of Small Size Paper Money.. you will see what Clembo is talking aboput! Good luck! RickieB
clembo is very accurate on this one (surprise surprise ) a very cool note! and yes, worth more then face!
