    Looks like someone tried to put an earring on it. lol

    Seriously, it's damage of some sort or it's a die clash, but I honestly can't tell which.

    Other members will give you further, and better, advice.

    It may be a die chip or crack or a damaged die from a previous struck through Debris/foreign object. It would not be a die Clash, those only show on the Field area of a coin.

    You should have this thread moved to world coins since it's Canada. You may get a better response.

    It could be. Being that does not add any value to the coin.
    Small minor/common errors can actually can reduce it's value as a collectible coin.
