New to the page. Mostly because I wanna know what's wrong with my quarter. It seems to have a smooth copper edge. Has this been altered or is it an error coin?

    No, it’s a normal Nickel.

Looks like the coin has been spooned. That is a process where someone taps around the coins edge with a small hammer or a spoon. This is done as part of a process to create jewelry (usually a ring) out of the coin. Or someone was really bored. It is not a mint error. Welcome to coin talk.
