Is this Morgan worthy of sending it in to get graded. What do u think the grade is?

    Hello Robster!
Nice luster on that morgan,I am not familiar with Morgans much, but my Redbook only lists it at $40 in ms-64. If you think it grades ms-65, that lists for onlty $120. If I am seeing your pictures clearly it is a 1921? right? It could have a die variety that may make it worth more. You will have to wait for the experts here to respond. Also it is hard to grade by a picture. My opinion is so far that it would not be worth it. Just my opinion though. Good luck

It looks like an MS64 to me. A few too many marks on the cheek for MS65 IMHO. There are a number of VAMS for this year, though. There are some with doubled letters, date, or devices. I can't tell from the picture if anything is doubled. Take a look at the stars, date, "ITED" in "UNITED". There are also a number of them with various pitted areas on the reverse.

Last year of the Morgans and they made a bunch in Philadelphia, 44,690,000!

Millions exist in MS condition, however, one with decent eye appeal may be a challenge because in 1921, they were made from different hubs with a shallow relief. Look at the breast feathers or the hair directly above the ear. If it is nice and clean (doesn't look rubbed), then you may have something.

MS64 and MS65 1921 Morgans are very common. I would tend to grade this around MS64 and that is worth around $35-45.

Any Morgan is a Morgan worth having! I gotta agree with the others, that mark on the cheek would make it MS-63 or 64 at best. Still, it's a nice coin and you should be glad you have it!
