Here's one I just picked up with some eBay bucks. I've seen a couple misaligned hole errors for this type over the years. This one is more misaligned than other examples I've seen, and the positioning of the misplaced hole is rather pleasing I think. Hungary Aluminum 2 Fillér 1963BP Misaligned Hole
That is way cool! I don't (knowingly) have any errors from Hungary. Do you have any more? I'd love to see what's out there.
I've seen quite a few minor errors that aren't really worth a premium, and some of the earlier classic coppers pretty much all have lamination issues, most notably the 1849NB 3 krajczár. There are some major errors noted in catalogs, but in general there don't seem to be that many errors floating around for Hungary to be honest, especially with classic coinage. I have two other Hungarian errors of note: Hungary Iron 2 Fillér KM-497 (WWI Emergency Issue) No Date (1916-1918) Double Struck Off-Center (Possibly a third rim restricted strike) Hungary AU 4 Forint 1870KB Proof Restrike Reverse Lamination KM-454 (1870-1880) Artex 1966 UP Restrike RRR! Normally I wouldn't care about a lamination error on a gold restrike, but this particular type had a mintage of only 20 pieces.
Some of those old laminations can be really cool. And who doesn’t love old copper coins anyway?! Very cool coins there. I love doubles strikes and the fact that 1/20 coins laminated is rather interesting.
Here are four 2 euro cent coins I picked up. I figured I could trade or gift away the extras. P.S. For those who have provided me their addresses, I intend to get to the post on Monday. I'll shoot out an update.
Please post or message me privately your preferences in order. Coins are labeled 1-5 and are posted in that order below. I will mail these out tomorrow morning Germany. No answer means I pick for you. I will give preference to the order by who messaged me first when I first offered these out. @spirityoda @paddyman98 @lordmarcovan @Pickin and Grinin @Wal888
@lordmarcovan @paddyman98 @Pickin and Grinin @spirityoda your coins went out today. Please post when they arrive! @Wal888 I sent you a PM, hopefully we can figure something out.
New acquisition I heard @lordmarcovan and put them on collectivecoin site. It's really easy to post the photos there. Thank you @Lord.
I put the minimum bid on this (~$10 shipped) a while back and woke up to winning the item. 182? Dutch East Indies Batav. My guess is 1821 based on no sign of a last number. Most other numbers would have something more to its left side and should show something of the digit. I think I’ll be able to tell in hand. Any guesses? Seller's photos:
@coin_nut may be able to help you with that. I don't know the date range for the type offhand (too lazy to look it up). You're "it's a 1 because of the wide spacing" theory sounds plausible to me.
