Been collecting odd or old coins for last 10 years of pocket change but I never looked under magnification or bought the red book or checked web until recently I started going through the coins ive been saving so sorry about my amature questions/posts I try not to post too many. Thanks CT
I believe that coin was on the top of a roll. That was what caused the round mark I assume. Maybe I am wrong.
I am really positive in general! I really WANT to see things. And I do wish that this is something. But I believe its just mechanical. Please get closer and more clear pictures to help yourself more. Wait for others to state their opinions. Wish you a good hunting!
Your questions are great. Don't be sorry. What you have is considered DDD - Die Deterioration Doubling. It's a worn die strike. Here is some information - http://www.error-ref.com/die-deterioration-doubling-incuse/ Sorry but it has nothing to do with a true doubled die and considered worthless doubling. Worth only 1 Cent Keep you questions over at the Error Coins forum. What's It Worth would be more for precious metals and rarities.
