Error quarter missing half of e in in god we trust I have no idea

    1992 d quarter missing half of e can anyone tell me what this is and how it happened? Thanks in advance

    Probably a struck through grease just in the top part of the E.. Nothing major.

    Struck through grease is when the letters or numerals fully or partly become compacted with grease on the Die and does not allow them to be formed properly when the blank planchet that is struck.
    No premium for that type of issue.

    There is so much to understand.. It takes time. I have 34 years collecting Mint Errors and even now I learn a few new things about them. You need to do research.
