Sorry about the blurry pics I thought the the R in AMERICA was doubled and beside the 2 in the date actually looks like a 1
That's not a Doubled Die issue.. Worn die more like it. Just because something looks like doubling doesn't make it an automatic Doubled Die.. There is a lot of worthless doubling. Please look at the following - http://doubleddie.com/144801.html
Enlarging your photo, I see what I think you are referring to about the date, but it looks like a shadow or stain next to the 2. At least you have a small 1982 cent.
This is what I I seen. The outline of the double chin and face, is what stuck out to me instantly, then what looked like ribbon marks from the neck down, which was strange to me and the markings on the cheek and impression by the date. And lastly the rim looked like it had a lot of markings on it as well. This is what I was seeing. And after you posted the back this is also what I seen. 1982 penny over half cent? by Deathstar218 posted Feb 8, 2019 at 7:38 PM Reverse 1982 penny by Deathstar218 posted Feb 10, 2019 at 3:24 AM
If you think that every coin that has a mark on it is an error coin, you will eventually go insane looking for answers that don’t exist.
