New to this, HELP here please !! COINS

Hello guys, I'm new to the forum and I'm curious about this coins I have, they're kinda huge and I would like some info about them if you guys have any idea.

I have 8 pure 0.999 silver coins, 4 of them are 0.225 grams and other 4 are 0.25 grams of weight. All of them with their certificate of authencity.

A familiar gave them to me and I found no use for them at all ... they're just being kept in a safe box.

What would be the $ in each of them ?

Welcome, and those look like standard silver rounds.
Value= melt of the silver.

0.250 Kg = 8.81 Oz
0.225 Kg = 7.93

 

with silver at $17 per ounce they would be about $135 for 8 ounces.

Well they are not real coins. Silver repros made by a private company.

0.25 grams is a tiny fraction of an ounce - about 0.01 oz or so (doing math in my head, be merciful).

Each of those coins is pretty beefy - more than an ounce.

 

My bad, 0.25 KG and 0.225 KG

 

Let's see.

32.15 troy ounces per kilogram (1000 grams)

So 0.25 KG = 8.04 troy oz

And 0.225 KG = 7.23 troy oz

If silver is at $17 melt price for each would be $136.64 and $122.97 respectively.

If I am reading the post correctly, then there are 4 each weighing 0.25 KG and 4 each weighing 0.225 KG! If I am right, then multiply each of those value times 4.

In other words, @ $17 silver, total bullion value of these outsize reproductions would be $1,038.44.

If there are actually 4 Silver Rounds weighing 0.25 KG each and 4 weighing 0.225 KG each, then yes they are! Also, the have some collector value over Silver prices due to them being replicas of the Walking Liberty and Kennedy Half Dollars and the Peace Dollars and also because they have cases and COA's. It is hard to say what that actual increase in value would be but I would say that each would probably fetch close to 10% above their' Silver value.

Howdy...on the first post you stated grams...then you re-posted and said Kg...if it is Kg, then here are the details.

0.25Kg is ~ 8.04 troy ounces (4)=32.16 troy oz @17.00/oz =$546.72
0.225Kg is ~ 7.23 troy oz(4)=28.92 troy oz@ 17.00/oz = $491.64

546.72+491.64=$1038.36 - my commision for the math $25.00 nets you $1013.36

Silver is now 17.12 per oz (was 17.30 this morning 2/15/08)
