I buy 1928 and 1934 $50 bills in groups of two or three consecutive bills. I also buy 1976 $2 bills in quantities of 50-bill packs, paying 66 percent above face for those $2 bills. I pay 2 to 2.5 times face value for the $50 bills. I think its ridiculous the prices people are paying for the 1995 and 2003 $2 bills. The 1976 bills are a better collectible value. I have some silver certificates: 16 consecutive 1935H $1 silver certificates.
Do not want to be hard nosed by any means but I think "if you are offering to buy", perhaps you might want to re-read the fourm policy. BTW welcome to the Paper Money Fourm. RickieB
a response I dont mean to be hardnosed either, but that was NOT A SOLICITATION TO BUY MERCHANDISE FROM THE OTHER FORUM USERS. I WAS SHARING WITH THE FOLKS MY COLLECTING INTEREST AND THE PRICES I HAVE BEEN BUYING AT. WHAT ADDITIONAL ACCUSATIONS DO YOU WISH TO ADD?
Letsbuybills... No need to get excited, better one of us ask instead of a Moderator. The way you posted the information can be read differently than it's original meaning. Gatzdon and Clembo seemed to have questions on that post as well so do not take it personally. We welcome everyone to the fourm, however, there are guidlines we all follow. Perhaps a statement like One of the things I enjoy doing is buying 1928 and1934 $50 bill ...........there would have been no question about that at all. So welcome to the paper money fourm and only 5 more post's to reach that mark of 10. Regards, RickieB
RickieB hit it. Sorry if you took that as offensive but you have to realize that people do pop in here for reasons other than the love of currency and coins. I'm sure the mods are reading this already but Gatzdon has been around as have I and RickieB. The paper forum is growing and you'll see us here a lot along with a few others that I'm sure will introduce themselves. Whew! Now that we have that out of the way. WELCOME TO THE FORUM! Post some pics as we'd love to see what you have! clembo
Welcome to the forum. As has eben stated, your original post was a bit hard to see in what direction you were headed. BUT, glad to see you like paper so far, everyone here who has responded like paper also. you are in good company here!
OP, I was blunt, but short because I didn't want to offend or sling accusations. Ultimately, you may glad you did state "I also buy 1976 $2 bills in quantities of 50-bill packs, paying 66 percent above face for those $2 bills." Because now I can tell you how to do it for face. Call your bank, ask them to order a full bundle from the Federal Reserve, get the Bundle, search it, Cash it in at a second bank (preferably a different bank all together, but for cash, a different branch is good enough if you don't do it more than once a month). You will find full bundles of consecutive notes, star notes, error notes, and the best of all, full straps of consecutively numbered 1976 notes. They are still out there in massive quantities and being recirculated by the Federal Reserve. This will require $2000 of searching money, but it sounds like with the premiums you are paying, it will yield a much better return than a standard Money Market would. Hope this helps and welcome to the forums. I have since read your other posts (the very low number of posts combined with the phrasing in your post really gave the wrong impression), and I think it's a lot clearer to me now that it was just a misunderstanding. And above all else, post scans/pics of all your finds.
Sounds like a decent collection. I always loved the old-style $50s. I try to pull them when I get one in circulation - they always seem to be less common than old $20s or even old $100s. Welcome! If you can post some pictures of your old $50s, that would be great. I for one would love to see them.
