Well thank you for that as i dont either but i just feel that if the coin was purposely mutilated that it would be impossible for the depths of the relief on the coin to be of the same depth

You'll get there one day, Fred. Maybe someday you'll be a famous authenticator of mint errors and have a website about them! We believe in you

Hey, did the person who designed your shirt misspell errors? They accidentally spelled it with a W

Well that is cool i just wished that maybe they were actually willing to listen to what a person had to say instead of being condescending and a bit rude because as far as im concerned they can be experts all they want Edited: Read the words on language!!

It is something i am interested in and want to learn more of so it is not your passion or hobby because i respect it there is so much knowledge that goes hand in hand with it it is the simple fact of why talk down to a person who is seeking your knowledge because yes i am not a currency expert but i am also not unintelligent

Because you didn't catch the joke! We were messing around about 2 of the best error collectors on the forum. We told you the truth about your coin, we joked about error collectors and that's its. Its all for fun.

Fred was being very nice to you. Mr. P. was being very nice to you, too! Let's get something straight. Nobody on these forums owes you anything! As far as I'm concerned, you've just earned the "I could care less about you award". Grow up!

As everyone has already said PMD = post mint damage. Welcome to CT. If you do not believe these 2 experts then I feel sorry for you. If you think it is something different... then go ahead and waste hard earned money on a grading company. They will tell you the same thing PMD/Altered. Those 2 experts did listen to you and they gave you their very experienced opinion. The way you responded shows your young age and immaturity. If you do not want to learn from these 2 experts... then it is you that does not want to learn. Your loss. Keep that coin as a reference to what a damaged/altered coin looks like. Happy coin hunting to you Joe.

If you stick around, or read back threads for a while, you will find that 98% of the "errors and frankly weirdness observations are due to 1. Youtube and get rich with pocket change videos, and people who claim to sell such on eBay, etsy, etc. that know only that " a sucker is converted to a searcher every few minutes". 2. People who develop fantasy stories about how the coin came to be . Yes, most today are made in a garage, but they are worthless. Very very few are made by the minting process, and they can be valuable. The key is to know the difference. The only way is to read everything about that process so you can distinguish the worthless. No one gets paid on the forum, not even moderators who have to clean up the trash. The forum is for numismatic education , to teach those interested how to learn and interpret the processes that produce them, but most of the posts want to confirm a "rarity:, (and there are a few that are rarities), but most are not. You can learn a lot here, but it does take time to absorb and understand. You can say what you want about a certain coin, but there are specific rules that apply to people and certain subjects, so please read the rules ( under the "forum" pulldown at the top of the page).
