This dime is an Error has an odd off color looks pretty mint any information would be great. I also have a mint
Welcome to Coin Talk. I don't see anything special. Looks like a normal dime to me. Where do you see the error?
@thomas mozzillo: Is that just evidence of a weak strike between 7 and 9 o’clock on the obverse? Rosies aren’t among the best quality coins.
Of course to many it would look like a normal dime. I have zoomed in on many obvious errors and doubling. Doubling in letters doubling under and around his ear the clear error smudges and also air bubbles. If you need me to use a pointer I can edit the images again.
The ear on the obverse and a couple of leaves to the left of the torch do look doubled. However the letters on the reverse are from the coin being at one time at the end of a roll and the coin rolling machine scratching the letters (called the ring of death). As for the "smudge" and "air bubbles", I'm not sure what you mean.
From your first photos not much detail could be seen. If you believe this is an error coin compare it to images on Error-ref.com or Doubled die.com.
I can see what you’re saying on some of the things. I am not good enough yet to confirm it from photos, but looks like a keeper to me.
Just worn die strikes and Circulation wear. Nothing really major. The color is also due to time in circulation. Environmental damage.
