I have this 1776-1976 Eisenhower silver dollar. It's in pretty good shape for a 40+ year old coin. I took it (amongst a lot of other silver coins) to a coin shop to see what I could get for it. I had looked online prior to going and I saw it going for $400+, so i was surprised when he told me he'd only give me face value for it. When I mentioned it to him, he kind of shrugged it off and said something about "the coin im referring to, theres something about the moon on the back..". Is this right??
Don't know about the moon but yours is the most common of all Ike Dollars. It's a type 2. You can tell by the slanted crossbar on the T in STATES. The outward edges are slanted. In type 1 they are straight. It's also clad and contains no silver. It's only worth face value.
Welcome to the neighborhood! You must have been watching some of those stupid videos on BoobTube. You should have come here, first. Chris PS. If you have a copy of "Strike It Rich With Pocket Change", just throw it in the trash.
