Just watched this horribly innacurate YouTube video and cringed so hard that I just had to post it. I apologize in advance to anyone brave enough to watch it...
Yep. Saw that one. That's why their channel is on my CoinTalk "Youtube Hall Of Shame". https://www.cointalk.com/threads/youtube-numismatic-misinformation-what-you-need-to-know.330269/ OP- take a look at "Couch Collectibles"! You'll cringe even harder at his clickbait drivel. One of the other members very eloquently named him "Potato Head". It's fitting!! He thinks going to videography school makes him an expert in Numismatics!
In 2004 the state of Wisconsin minted? You learn something every day! I have a 1915-s penny in the same condition shown!! I'll sell it for 1/2 of what it's "worth" 160$ Today only tomorrow I will want 320$ Darn it. I wish I had seen this last week, I spent one of those 1804 Dollars on licorice whips,
By posting this, you're just helping to promote BoobTube for the uneducated. Why don't you just ignore them? Chris
Yeah I was going to mention that. Better to take a screenshot and attach it so those blasted slimeballs don't get the ad revenue from clicks!
I figured that framing it in this context will actually help new collectors be more aware of the misinformation on YouTube. People who otherwise would have believed the stuff is in a video like this can see how ridiculous it truly is.
Help them? Get real! Do you realize how many people uneducated in numismatics come here after reading that BS and swear that they've been told the gospel truth from a "reliable source"? Come on! The best thing to do is to ignore it completely. Chris
Ignoring issues doesn’t solve them. The only people that would see this thread and believe stuff said in the video are those who are... A) Seeking attention (a.k.a. trolls) B) Genuinely gullible and dull (these people would likely believe stuff like this no matter what the context is) Every other sane person here will be pushed away from coin info on YouTube.
Don't worry guys, I already reported this video as "misleading" and provided plenty of evidence to go with it.
Okay then! Every time someone from Group A or Group B comes here, we'll just tell them to discuss it with you. Chris
Jeez People are going to see the video whether I post it here or not. You’ve made your point. There’s no reason for all the saltiness...
I'm a newby and was just thinking there should be a video to aid in learning the basics of coin grading. Does anything like this exist??
