Just going through the change in my pocket today and found this odd marking on a quarter where the mint mark usually is. At first it just looked like a dot but I believe it's a Denver marking that wasn't fully marked? Was just curious what it may be since I'm not even close to a coin expert and my curiosity got the best of me.

    Thanks!

    It's a D mint mark.

Denver mint mark. The die fill with grease or a hard contact hit on the mint mark to alter the coin.

Pocket change is how Kevin Flynn and John Wexler got started! (But any woman will tell you that you have to kiss a lot frogs before you meet a prince.)

The "D" for Denver had a die chip in the letter. Very common.
