I received 3 in change from lunch and check out the doubling. Especially the 9, mintmark, and earlobe.
Looks like it could be doubled. Any chance closer up and less shiny? I think I see a shifted die to the SSE of the main strike.
I see what you are seeing but can't commit just yet. Possibly from a damaged die but not really sure. The distortion appears similar to the 2014 P doubled dies.
Yeah, I know what they say yet there have been other instances where they insisted any errors cannot happen again yet they do.
The problem with the single squeeze is that the working hub and the master have to be dead on square and perfectly aligned. If not, when they apply the pressure, they will pop or jump side ways into alignment causing doubled devices. It depends on where or how far along they are in the hubbing process as to which devices will show signs of movement. The dies are ever so slightly convex so the centers touch first. Why you will see most single squeeze doubling on the center details such as the ear. I couldn't guarantee how any of this happened, wasn't there, just know it looks different.
