Can someone enlighten me again please? The close up makes it look like an indentation but it's really like a blob of copper or whatever.
You have a CUD It's actually a big Die Break. A piece of the Die broke off so when the Blank Planchet was struck that area in question was left blank and raised when the metal flowed into the break. Great find! Keeper! Thanks for sharing!
Check out the following website that shows and explains what CUDs are http://cuds-on-coins.com You can also check if your find is listed.
That's pretty kewl for a zincoln. Glad it didn't tear the copper. It looks taller than the rim itself ?
Well I tried to submit it but the pictures need to be exactly as they want and I don't have the talent to do that. Oh well . . . "Hi Dave, I got the images but they are not cropped and resized per the instructions http://cuds-on-coins.com/attributions-guide-on-what-to-do/ Also the images of the close-ups are pixilated and out of focus. Please follow the attached images requirement and send me the cropped and resized images I need for a listing. Regards, JC Stevens"
