So, does Etsy have any sort of "sold items" search, so you can see whether there are actually fools out there who would buy something like this? Asking for a friend.

Not sure but I have see things not as absurd but way over priced selling for far more than any online dealer would sell it for. Example a coin that would list of Ebay for 10 dollars sells there for 20-30 dollars.

A lot of these coins sold there are to people with no real knowledge of coins (no kidding). The person selling them are selling antiques, clothes, pottery/vases, paintings, beads, purses and other such stuff that have a following from those items that buys a coin(s) with little knowledge of its value.

Etsy I understand was originally created for people selling homemade crafts, clothes, blankets, beads cheap jewelry, etc. but has attracted many other sellers and apparently Etsy for revenue purposes has allowed many different sellers to use the site.
