Poor photo for someone expecting $5,700. Hard to judge from that photo.

To me, that looks like a MS-70'd AT coin that NGC has deemed MA.

    p.s. in case you hadn't guessed, I wouldn't touch it with a 10' pole.

Sorry, what does "MA" mean? (misattributed?)

Why is it that his face looks like it has been "pressed in"? The shape of the nose and chin are odd and it looks like the distance from the back of the head to the front is less than it should be. Like Lincoln was walking forward and ran into a wall.

I think it just the angle of the pic...notice you can see the side of the rim on the right obverse...

This coin is notorious for being ugly and poorly struck, this is IMO a well struck higher end coin, the reverse is sharp as a tack, pounded wheat and lettering...we'll as ebay pics go....would like to see in hand for sure

looks fine to me - but for top dollar they could spend a few to present the coin better

Sorry, I just don't see it. For that kind of money, there are much nicer coins out there IMO.

Market Acceptable. To be more clear:

IMO, that coin has been artifically toned with the use of MS 70. NGC looked the other way and slabbed the coin, deeming it "Market Acceptable". Nothing wrong with that necessarily, but it is what it is.

Don't believe me? Send a PM to gmarguli -- he knows what to look for and has extensive experience on the topic, and has been kind enough to share that info on numerous occasions...Mike

Typo on the label? Intended to be a "46"?

My first thought was that it was a coin that someone used MS-70 on. However, much of the copper that people like for its nice, glossy brown surfaces is the result of MS-70, Coin Care and Dellars Darkener.

Agreed, but the result of the coin is very different for those three substances (one is a cleaner, anthoer is an oil/condition, and the third is a toning reagent). Again, not anything necessarily wrong with it, but it is what it is....Mike

When I clicked on the link to the listing I saw the word "rover" temporarily pop up for the address - this isn't one of those pay-per-hit deals is it?

I think the coin is ok but the image stinks.
Not sure on the price but it seems high.
Why would someone even use an image like that.
