Susan B. Anthony is older than she looks. Two thousand years ago she was a Queen of Egypt and had a lover named Antony.
Ok, I'm now ready to take the ink blot test. They failed because they were rejected by the public for numerous reasons which I will not go into because I don't think you'd listen.
Assuming she would have made an impact in whatever cause she took up, I can only imagine and cringe to think what shed be rallying for if alive now in our time...not sayin no more....lol....lil miss v shaped alien dollar lady...lol
'Fool! Don't you see now that I could have poisoned you a hundred times had I been able to live without you.'
Funny I found these 2 while going thru a box of miscellaneous stuff. It also gave me the opportunity to try out my new refurbished Nikon B500 camera.
Yeah, I find some of America's choices of historical people put on coins somewhat disgusting. The likes of Lincoln, Roosevelt, Kennedy, and Anthony are repulsive when you study history. We should go back to Miss Liberty. Washington, Ben Franklin, and Jefferson are exceptions, keep them.
Repulsive only from the perspective of a 21st century societal viewpoint. People tend to forget that our predecessors weren’t quite as sensitive as our current generation is. However that does not mean that those leaders weren’t important and influential in their day and forged many of the foundations for the freedoms we enjoy today.
I've studied up on foreign designers and engravers of coins. Two engravers, one from the Austrian Mint and another from the South Korean Mint, both cite U.S. coin designs as inspirations. They really admire the designs and engravings of the Saint Gaudens and Lincoln cent obverses. That kind of surprised me, since I've heard from European coin collectors how much they do NOT like US coin designs. Mr. Oh Soon-hwan of the Korean Mint thinks that the Lincoln design is a very human likeness, and said that you can almost "smell the humanity" from the image, and some of the other side-facing busts on U.S. coins.
If you look hard enough, you can find something bad to say about anyone and everything. Washington and Jefferson are easy targets.
This current generation is rewriting history as we speak. This is a problem when everybody's feeling gets hurt and everybody's too sensitive. This is not an attack on anybody but you're right, this new generation is too soft.
