I went to bid $19.52 on this coin and missed hitting the decimal...put in a bid for almost two grand! Thankfully no one pushed up too much higher.

Haha, yeah, first mistake like this on eBay and I've been a member since May 1998. Luckily it only cost me a couple bucks.

Wouldn't you be able to explain an accident like that though? As long as you don't do it all the time?

I could have withdrawl the bid, but then they can post negative feedback. It's not worth that for $3.

If they gave you negative feedback, that would be pretty damn low. Glad nobody pushed it higher!

Yikes, my nightmare. You got out of it with a very nice coin, I'd call it reasonable.

I was wondering this too. That is actually a mistake I made once transferring money doing on line banking (I loathe on line banking).... I could easily see myself doing what you did. The few times I have bid on EBay I do it spur of the moment and move on.... Not even thinking about it, really. I am glad it didn’t cost you, OP.

Nowadays a seller cannot leave a negative to a buyer unless something has changed?

The seller cant leave feedback unless you win the auction, simply retract your bid and put in the correct bid amount.

    NOW,
I transposed 2 numbers on a Gunbroker bid and I tried to back up that OOPS.....
(My bid when I confirmed it had all the right numbers JUST not in the right order....my brain did a quick Check and Said SURE SEND IT:D:D:D
No Dice on trying to back up,
I contacted the seller and they said they couldn't cancel the bid but was willing to work with me if I won the auction (that was almost a certainty as my bid was 2x the going rate
I contacted GB support and the were going to look into it and get back with me in 48 hours....the auction closed in 24 hours.
