No clue about coins. My dad passed away and my mom moved. She gave me a huge piggy bank with approximately 200 rolls of pennies labeled by year. I think there are 7 rolls of 1964d pennies. I see some on some websites listed for thousands of dollars that dont stand out to me or look different than many of mine that I have looked at from the first roll. How can I determine if any have value before I just cash in at the bank?
Well..... The thing with coins is that the collector is always striving to find the most perfect example of the coin he loves. Your post brings to mind a few questions. Did your dad collect mint rolled cents? If he did, you may have some strikingly nice examples in those rolls...... Having said that, please disregard the YouTube claims of thousand dollar cents. They are so full of misleading information...... But if you do have mint wrapped rolls of cents it may be worthwhile to post some dates and photos here so we can help you evaluate what you have.
sorry about your loss. as mentioned, ignore youtube and clickbait websites. post examples here .. there's all sorts of knowledgeable posters that can help you.
The good news: the blurry pic makes it hard to be certain, but it appears that might be a high grade example of an uncirculated 64d cent. The bad news: they made 3.8 BILLION of those, so unfortunately even in that condition such a coin isn't worth much to speak of.
