My Mother-in-law came over the other day and brought us a really nice gift. She has the entire set of the 100 Greatest Masterpieces from the Franklin Mint and she gave them to my wife and I. There are 100 pieces like this one containing 1 oz. of silver and 24 karat gold plated. They are REALLY beautiful! I want to put all but a few of them in the safety deposit box. What do you think would be the best thing to wrap them in. I was going to use individual plastic jewelry bags, but have learned that the PVC in them can be very harmful. Any suggestions. I am thinking about wax paper. What do you think?
Thanks everyone, I am pretty proud of them! richcoin, there aren't any holders for them. I have one that you see in the photo, but these were purchased in the 70's and I cannot find them now. They are housed in a large mahogany box with drawers. The drawers are lined but the medals are directly exposed to the air, fingers and someone else's pockets! But mainly I just want to get them into our safety deposit box at our bank in case of a home burglary. They measure 2" across, so they won't fit in a regular coin holder. How about saran wrap or waxed paper??
sure they will, use the 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 saflips http://www.brent-krueger.com/flips.html item number: SSF25P-100
