Greetings, fellow Numismatists & US Coin junkies (like me!). Hope this okay to post. The 'Boss' and "Home CFO" came with me to the Coin show in Sandy, UT. It was my first and it was pretty decent. Saw some fellow Utah Numismatic Society members and fellow local coin shop auction addicts there, as well as a pretty decent selection of vendors from all around the West.
I was budgeted to an amount and "strictly" supervised. :) Lol! However, I did make out with a nice haul. Nothing fancy - just a few finds, to continue building my simple, mostly modern half dollar and dollar collection. And, a freebie "slabbed" penny of my birth year. My first slabbed coin! ;)o_O;)

In any case, here's the haul.

Let me know if you have any queries/posers (I'm giddy and tired, so not making much sense). Later, 'gators!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did the American innovation dollar set you back? I wanted to buy one, but i didn't need a whole roll from the US Mint lol

    Edit: definitely a nice haul!

She likes the artistry of the older silver coins. Even more surprising, she likes Lady Liberty's hair, on the Morgans! Lol! :woot:

Yes, me too. Only $2 each (one Philly and one Denver). Going to go after a Frisco proof from US Mint, next week.

Make sure you head over to the Busy Bee Bar & Grill to celebrate with the best bacon/blue cheese burger I've ever come across. Yeah, it's a total dive bar...but I'm not joking about that burger.

Will definitely check it out. Have you tried the Habit? Our fave burger (so far)!

I used to go to that show all the time. But I moved to Florida last year. There's some pretty cool stuff at that show. Last time I went a dealer had two Stella's.

I haven't (but then it's been a few years since I've been to SLC) - I wonder if that's a new place that's been put up since I graduated from the U. (Looks like it's in Sugarhouse, they were doing lots of construction down there when I left.)

Nice looking coins you got Norm. And it must be nice to have the wife interested in your hobby. Something you both can share. My wife is not interested but then she doesn't stop me either. :)

The only thing that my wife is interested in, is how much did THAT coin cost?

I don't even get that. She is totally not interested and I can live with that.

I too went there on Friday. It was really crowded around noon. I picked up a peace dollar that I have been looking for. Overall it was a good show.
