    Found today! A worn 1870 IHC with what I think is a woody qualifying look. Its one crazy looking coin

    I agree, im hoping to see more. I have another I'll try to capture but I think it's more of a dirty coin that looks wooden rather than actual metal mixture

    What I'm mainly seeing are fingerprints. The first image may show something in the upper right quadrant that develops into wood grain over time. Wood grain toning is thought to be caused by improper mixing of alloys in the planchets.
