I found this half dollar 1951 coin with the flaw as seen in the photo. It looks to like a manufacture flaw. Any comments. Thanks

Not a flaw. Not an error. Just damaged.

First, welcome to the neighborhood, Roger D.!

It looks like post-mint damage (PMD) to me, but I have to ask you, "What leads you to believe that it is a Mint error?"

i have a little experience with metallurgy and it appeared to have been there a while. The metal is rolled up like balls when you take a close look. just a fyi, that why i'm looking for the pros. Thanks for your help jw

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

I'd stay far away from the animal that bit that half.

Someone took a grinder or dremel to it.
