Dagnabbit. I forget that they had a proof dollar as well... It's still in stock... you guys pretty sure I'll be able to pick one up cheaper if I wait? I already have the 5 oz and the half dollar set, which seem to be the hot items...?
The only times I've seen these type of glitches on the website is for fast sell outs. I bet the 5oz'er & Half Set are darn close to a sell out.
Most coins only sold about half their limit. Worse than I was expecting: http://www.coinnews.net/2019/01/25/apollo-11-commemorative-coin-sales-reach-296311-in-first-day/ -Proof $5 Gold Coin: 15,544 -Uncirculated $5 Gold Coin: 7,781 -Proof Silver Dollar: 86,073 -Uncirculated Silver Dollar: 35,380 -Proof Clad Half Dollar: 29,560 -Uncirculated Clad Half Dollar: 20,877 -Proof Half Dollar Set: 49,825 -Proof $1 Five Ounce Silver Coin: 51,271
Yep, canceled three of my four puck orders. Keeping the order that shipped already, canceled the backordered ones.
Figures, like in the past the non-Proof Gold seems to have a higher future value even if it's on $10 cheaper on release.
stereotypically they'll go down in price. but you'll have to wait for it to trade several hands and each to take a small loss .. the longer you wait the lower the price. Of course, the flip of that is that not all have been sold. Thus when the remainder get melted they'll be less in the market and prices will go up. It all depends. But typically most Mint products go down over time. But as I mentioned some may take years such as the 2016 W golds are still at or barely below/above release price. 2009 gold 1 oz high relief was $1189 release ($300 premium over spot) and now is about $1700 (yes, technically it's less depending how you want to look at it .. but it still hits the wallet/debt as $600+ more).
That's disappointing! But, then it would be nice if the sales don't go too much higher. These won't set any record low mintages, but they may be low enough for a popular theme to hold or increase value down the road. Look at the Baseball & Buffalo, both sold out with high mintages the Buffalo sells for way over issue and the Baseballs are holding at around issue. Of course flipping is gone.
Talked to daughter in So. Africa this morn. She told me she bought a SET of SILVER moon landing coins. Now i have no idea. What she did get. She did say set and silver. What ever she purchased. I will charish
