Value needed, not sure where you go for stock certificate values ? Maybe someone can point me in the right direction ? Heres a couple i have in easy access, the rest are in a box in the garage Somewhere..LOL
I just happen to have a B&O Railroad that is cancelled, and if you want it to complete the set, I'll sell it to you for $15,000,000 USD. Chris
I like old stock certificates, especially railroads and mining. I usually look at eBay auction prices for relative value. You should be able to match the ones you have with ones being sold.
The certificates you show are pretty common - generally go for less than $5 on eBay. You can check eBay "Coins and paper money/stocks and bonds" category to value your other certificates. [Now if you have a Standard Oil certificate signed by Rockefeller, you have one worth a few thousand dollars, though much of the value there is in the signature.]
I guess, i cant retire early then...LOL For me its all about the art work, have had them for several years so just Thought i would check
I would guess that there's some sort of price guide out there. I haven't explored that deeply into them. I mostly look on eBay for something I want or like and go the bid route. If I decided to be a more serious collector I would probably try to find more resources. Have you tried the Google route?
Those are cool popular stock certs. Two(2) of the four(4) Monopoly railroads. Average retail price on those is +/- $5. You can get the set of four(4) for $19.95.
Like everything else these days. Start with a Google search - stock certificate value. Adjust your words as needed. I was able to research the several American companies I have. My big hurdle is researching European certificates. First I have to determine the language (probably Czech or Austrian, my fathers family) then translate, then research. There are people and entities who may purchase what you have. Another name to use in your google search is commercial paper. Keep us posted and best of luck to you. Edited after reading other posts. There are different values for stock certificates and commercial paper. One is collector value the other is the possible actual value of the stock. The suggestions I made was for researching the actual value of the stock if any. My apologies if I went on the wrong tangent.
The best place to find prices is Ebay. Stock dealers tend to ask ridiculously high prices for inventory even in common items except for Clinton Hollins whose prices are very reasonable. Compare prices at scripophily.net and George LeBarre's site against Ebay prices for the same material. Then look for it on Clinton Hollins website.
You can go to scripohily.com. There are links there to the Interantional Bond and Share Society and other collector organizations. Scripohily.com has about 9000 stock certificates for sale so you might be able to find the ones you have listed there. Stock certificates are also for sale on eBay, so you can get an idea of what they are going for there.
