I bet these are sold out and only in backorder status until enough orders are received to cover orders that can't be processed. And, just maybe, the Mint is holding off announcing a sell out to put off the backlash over blowing another one by not limiting HHOL's to 1 initially. Call me paranoid, but totally fits the Mint's M.O.

06310xxx, placed at 12:03. I was ON the BALL today. For once.

Second one was placed at 12:16, for a few of the unlikely-to-sell-out-immediately issues. That number was 06331xxx. So, 21000 orders in 13 minutes, give or take -- assuming the order numbers are sequential and they don't skip numbers.

 

Uhhh, I read the title of this post completely wrong

 

I'm still trying to figure out what happened. I was already on the site at noon and refreshed right as the coins became available. By the time the pucks were in the "bag" they were already marked as "backorder." There was apparently a glitch in the system because it took four attempts to submit my credit card information until it finally went through. I did get an order "acknowledgement" email right away with all the items listed (I purchased one of each example). Got another confirmation email two hours later which included the order summary. Again, all items included. Anyone know how to interpret this? Will I get my coins now or in May? Will I get them ever?.. Tried calling the Mint's customer helpline, but the answering service is also malfunctioning. How can I know if my order was successful?

No, the mint is immune to shutdowns. Their website is just awful, just as it always has been.

 

I'll keep that in mind if I ever look for a job in DC or SanFran, Denver, Phillie, etc.

Yeah, I’m more along those lines. Actually called the mint and spoke to the customer service representative. She was really helpful, but confirmed that my picks are indeed on backorder and will not ship until at least May 1st. So much for that.

 

Right when the pucks went on sale I grabbed em and checked out. All emails confirm acknowledgement of entire order, mint website shows “0” on the pucks and it really pisses me off. This is because they reserve “X” amount for dealers. May? I wish I didn’t order them. Every year it’s the same BS. All the hype and then the buzz drops off. To be honest, just wanted it because it’s the 1st 5 ounce that’s not an ATB. Shame on them for offering the hype and falling short. Not by weeks, by months. Never again.
