Here's a medal I ran into years ago and I'm not from Iowa but it's still a cool piece and it's gold filled. ;)Depression year 1929! Anyone have one of these? Just sharing and showing off as usual. :D IMG_8627.JPG IMG_8630.JPG ;)

It's cool, but you probably won't ever see another. All of the lettering is hand-engraved, likely before that Crash of 1929 even occurred.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

No idea about the medal, but I remember from Speech Club what a Declamatory speech is. Basically, you repeat a speech which was given in public.

So, for example, I could recite the Gettysburg address as my entry into the Declamation.

I really appreciate the comments! I was wondering what Declamation meant, guess I should have used google but that's not as much fun! :D

In 1930 Dorothy Harmon was a 14 year old school girl living Kensett Township, Worth Co. Iowa. So 1929 could be the right year.

Amazing and appreciated! ;) Dang, I wish she would have became famous like a movie star or a congress woman but that's ok. :D It's still a very cool piece to me. :cigar:

She actually ended up being a teacher in rural Worth Co. Iowa.
