Wondering how this happened it can’t be die clash right it isn’t possioned right and it’s a reverse endention so is this a mule die ? I am new to this all help appriceated I have a lot of great finds buying penny boxes and coin roll hunting so far but this one has me at a loss . Thanks
First, welcome to the neighborhood, Julian! Offhand, it looks like someone tried to squeeze two coins together in a vise. On the obverse, I can see part of "UNUM" spelled backwards. This is indicative of a squeeze job. Your light has washed out some of the obverse, so you might want to position it so the light doesn't bounce back into the lens. Two lights are better than one, and placing them at a 45 degree angle to the subject should help immensely. Chris
Ok thanks yeah new just found it in a coin roll thought it was odd thanks for the info . Don’t get why anyone would do that to the coins .the reverse just has a line as far as I can tell probably from the vise thanks
